Esther Villaluz Asis, 88, of Kailua died Thursday in Hale Nani Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. She was born in Makaweli, Kauai. William Everette Phifer Jr., 93, of Kaneohe, founding pastor and pastor emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, died Sept. 17 in Honolulu. He was born in Brookhaven, Miss.
