From the Ya-Ya Sisterhood to the Powerpuff Girls, these two female-centric movies didn't do great guns at the box office this year, but, of course, every home video release gets reborn with extra features on DVD: NEW ON VIDEO
Ya-Ya DVD includes
never-seen scenes

>> The mainstay of the extras on "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" (Warner Bros. Home Video, $26.98) is a pair of full-length audio commentaries -- one by actress Ashley Judd and director/scriptwriter Callie Khouri, and another by Khouri, producers Bonnie Bruckheimer and Hunt Lowry, executive producer Lisa Stewart, editor Andrew Marcus and composer T Bone Burnett (and do yourself a favor -- even if you haven't seen the movie, buy the soundtrack, especially if you're a fan of Burnett's work on "O Brother, Where Art Thou?").
There's also a 16-minute section of deleted scenes, a promotional featurette called "Unlocking the Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood," and "The Ya-Ya Sisterhood Scrapbook," which navigates animated scrapbook pages to track down a half-dozen 30-second clips from the movie or of the cast talking about their characters.
>> While "The Powerpuff Girls: The Movie" (Warner Bros. Home Video, $26.98) did disappointing business on the big screen, you can sit back at home with the DVD and enjoy the feature, plus these extras:
>> Exclusive cast interviews that are newly animated, as Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, Mojo Jojo, and the Mayor sit down for a press junket interview and reveal all about themselves and the movie.
>> Behind-the-scenes footage of the voice talent in session, the process of animating the movie and meeting the Girls' creator Craig McCracken.
>> Four additional scenes, never-before-seen.
>> DVD-ROM features, including four Powerpuff Girl challenges that live right on the DVD, including a movie screensaver, wallpaper and online trading cards.
>> Early animation test sequence.
>> Commentary on selected additional scenes by the Girls, Mojo Jojo and the Mayor.
