The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Bankoh, HEI hit highs

Cyanotech Corp., which posted a quarterly loss of $540,000 that was slightly wider than a year ago, gained 3.9 percent this week to lead 11 other companies in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. The Kona company, whose 46 percent decline is the second-worst this year in the index, closed yesterday at 54 cents.

Meanwhile, Bank of Hawaii Corp. and Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc., who both had 1.2 percent gains, each ended the week at their 52-week highs. Bank of Hawaii closed at $30.05 while Hawaiian Electric finished at $48.20.
