Two consultants to Honolulu Mayor Jeremy Harris' political campaign went yesterday before an Oahu grand jury investigating the mayor's 2000 re-election effort.

Harry Mattson and Norma Wong, who head Campaign Service Inc., testified for about two hours about payments made by their company to former Maui beauty queen Lisa-Katharine Otsuka.

Allen Hoe, Mattson's attorney, had no comment as he left the courthouse.

City prosecutors are investigating more than $75,000 in payments that Campaign Service Inc. received from the Harris campaign. The money was later sent to Otsuka, said people familiar with the investigation.

Otsuka also appeared in Circuit Court yesterday to provide police investigators with handwriting samples but did not go before the grand jury. Her attorney, Victor Bakke, would not comment on the prosecutor's investigation but said his client is cooperating with authorities.
