Sewage spill seeps into Nuuanu Stream

H-1 and H-2 freeways get name change

Gov. Ben Cayetano renamed two of the state's busiest freeways yesterday.

"As the main lifeline of transportation on Oahu, it is a fitting tribute that the H-1 freeway be named in honor of Hawaii's queen," said Cayetano.

In regards to the H-2 freeway, the governor added, "America became a great nation because every time our beliefs and ideals have been threatened, our soldiers have stepped forward to defend them ... we will be eternally grateful."

A Big Island grand jury returned a 40-count indictment against them last week.

The Diegos have said in the past that they did no wrong. Carreira declined to make additional comments yesterday.
