What qualifies you to be a state representative?

The qualification that I have as a businessman and an electrical engineer, also have served the past 2001-2002 legislative session, being vice chairman of Economic and Business Concerns, served on the Finance, Tourism and Culture, and Agriculture committees have been very valuable assets for me for future legislation.

How would you improve Hawaii's public schools, and how would you pay for it?

Improving Hawaii's public schools is a must, but with the past approved funding for repair and maintenance on the school infrastructure must be accelerated ... DAGS need to hire more construction managers and inspectors to facilitate these long-awaited projects. Also, need to pay the teachers their rightful negotiated pay increases and bonuses.

What, if anything, should be done to improve Hawaii's business climate?

Since there are more small business than big business, they should try to work with each other in a very tight economy, if not introduce legislation to help the overall business climate.

I will work to reduce class size, give teachers the tools and supplies they need to educate and decentralize the educational system. We need to reduce excessive business regulations with the exception of environmental protection and reduce the cost of doing business in the state. Small-business ownership is the American dream, and this should be supported. We should encourage business that produces more export products and diversify and expand the visitor industry. ...
