Support local businesses by eliminating unnecessary regulations that serve no useful purpose. Lower their tax burden, and create partnerships between government and the business community because the economy directly affects our quality of life. We need a strong economy so our families have access to the programs they depend on.

What qualifies you to be a state representative?
I was fortunate to be raised in a family where public service was highly regarded. Each of us has an obligation to give back to our community. My generation must commit itself to serving Hawaii honestly ... with diligence, accessibility and respect.
How would you improve Hawaii's public schools, and how would you pay for it?
Get more money into the classrooms, expedite school repairs, update schoolroom infrastructure and spend more time teaching and less time administering. Rebuilding our economy is the key to rebuilding our school system.
What, if anything, should be done to improve Hawaii's business climate?
I said it earlier, improve, not simply criticize. Offer incentives that work and promote those incentives we already have. I also caution anyone who thinks that government should relax their regulatory role. What was that company, you know ... Enron.
