What qualifies you to be a state representative?

My qualifications come from being in business for 15 years. I feel the impact daily from the anti-business legislation. For this reason, I am also motivated to become part of the solution that will make a difference for the people of our state.

How would you improve Hawaii's public schools, and how would you pay for it?

By supporting seven locally elected school boards so parents, teachers and communities can control their own schools. Support funding by district for education operations on a per-pupil basis so funding is fair and equal.

What, if anything, should be done to improve Hawaii's business climate?

Elect more business people to Legislature, make it easier for businesses to speak and collaborate with legislators in an environment that is respectful, helpful, friendly and caring. Typically, business people are treated as adversaries. Stop introducing bills that are anti-business and truly study their impact before consideration.

Ensure that more money is dedicated to classroom needs; provide funding to retain and recruit quality teachers; and support performance standard testing to increase student achievement. These items can be funded through re-prioritizing programs in the state budget.
