What qualifies you to be on the Board of Education?
My life experiences and my education and my determination to be pro-active.
Do you support or oppose taxpayer-supported vouchers so students at underperforming public schools can attend private schools? Explain.
At this time, I do not support vouchers and the transport of students from one community to another community, if there are other equally valid options.
Do you support or oppose the state-funded charter school system that gives these schools more autonomy?
As this time, I am not impressed with the track record of charter schools. They provide limited options. They are boutiques.

I am a 22-year resident of Hawaii and have educated two children in Hawaii's private and public schools. I have contributed actively in our community as a leader, volunteer and political candidate. I can bring people together for common causes, and I am ready to do more.
Do you support or oppose taxpayer-supported vouchers so students at underperforming public schools can attend private schools? Explain.
The voucher plan is worth looking at but should be viewed along with other possibilities in a forum designed to create a master plan dealing with our school system's problems comprehensively.
Do you support or oppose the state-funded charter school system that gives these schools more autonomy?
The charter school idea should be looked at objectively, and if significantly improved performance is clearly demonstrated, we should consider the possibility of state funding for this method of educating our children.
