Men's hoops tickets
go on sale Monday




Hawaii men's basketball season tickets go on sale on Monday at the Stan Sheriff Center box office.

Fans can purchase new season tickets through Nov. 8.

Box office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. Tickets can be purchased by phone (944-BOWS) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For Monday only, the box office is open from noon to 4 p.m.

Season ticket prices are as follows: Lower Level, $250; Upper Level, $185; Upper Level students, $140; Super Rooter, UH students, $105; Super Rooter, guests, $175.

The Rainbows open the season with an exhibition game against the EA Sports California All-Stars on Nov. 17. The regular season opens with the Hawaiian Airlines Tip-Off Tournament on Nov. 22.

Fresno gets WAC tournament: The Western Athletic Conference approved Fresno, Calif., as the site of the 2004 WAC men's and women's basketball tournament.

The event will be held in the Save Mart Center, which is scheduled to open for the 2003-2004 basketball season.

Fresno State hosted the WAC tournament in 2000.

Hawaii has won the past two league tournaments in Tulsa, the site of this season's event.

Carll 10 back in Florida tourney

Pearl City's Kevin Carll shot a 2-over-par 74 yesterday at the TaylorMade-adidas PGA Assistant Pro Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Carll trails leader Gus Ulrich of North Carolina by 10 strokes, 139-149, after two days.
