The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Central Pacific Bank parent CPB Inc. continued to run away with top honors in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index as it tacked on an additional 6.6 percent gain this week to bring its 2002 gain to 71.4 percent. The company, which posted a 29.2 percent jump in third-quarter operating earnings, boosted its stock price to $50.41 ahead of next month's 2-for-1 stock split. CPB net boosts stock
The worst performer of the week was financially ailing Ceatech USA Inc., which fell 24 percent to an all-time low of 19 cents.
