Late 19th-century lifestyles inspired a Royal Garden Party held at Iolani Palace yesterday. The event, a fund-raiser for the palace, featured canopied supper service, lantern-lit dancing and period entertainment and activities. Tom Mahi, a member of the Royal Guard, Hawaii Air National Guard, opened the palace gate as guests arrived by horse-drawn carriage.
