Members of the Pacific Karting Club gathered yesterday at Hawaii Raceway Park near Campbell Industrial Park to race their high-tech, high-powered karts. Some of the karts can reach speeds in excess of 100 mph.

After crashing and flipping his kart in a race, Roland Rodrigues was examined by emergency medical technician Scott Gannon. An EMT is present during all race days. Rodrigues was not injured.
