On the Scene
A Good night for Champagne: Friends, from left, Trixie Win, Faith Young, Josie Kong and Noel Mau enjoyed the "opium bed" Tuesday after the Wrath of Grapes champagne-tasting party in the Opium Den at Indigo Eurasian Cuisine. The party featured more than a dozen champagnes and sparkling wines along with hors d'oeuvres by chef Glenn Chu. Wine tasting resumes at Indigo tomorrow at 6 p.m.
She Rocked!: Faye Parker, left, congratulated Nancy Sinatra after Sinatra and an excellent band rocked Gussie L'Amour's for 70 minutes on Friday. "You Only Live Twice," a new hard-rock version of "These Boots ..." and a high-energy "Son of a Preacher Man"/"Missionary Man" medley were highlights.
SAMS WE AM: Hawaiian 105 KINE deejay Uncle Sam Kapu, right, celebrated with his son, Sam Kapu III, Friday at the CD release party for Sam III's new album, "Sk3-Lineage," at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel. The hotel showed its support of the talented Sam III by laying out an excellent heavy pupu party buffet.
