Ramones tribute
benefits their charities

Hey ho! Let's go! -- it's a loving tribute to punk icons the Ramones. Contributors and their songs include Rob Zombie ("Blitzkrieg Bop," who also designed the CD's artwork), Eddie Vedder ("I Believe in Miracles"), the Red Hot Chili Peppers ("Havana Affair"), Marilyn Manson ("The KKK Took My Baby Away"), the Offspring ("I Wanna Be Sedated"), Green Day ("Outsider"), Rancid ("Sheena Is a Punk Rocker"), U2 ("Beat on the Brat"), Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders ("Something to Believe In"), KISS ("Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio?"), Garbage ("I Just Want to Have Something to Do") and Tom Waits ("The Return of Jackie and Judy"). Waits is supported by his son, guitarist Casey Waits, Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz and Primus/Oysterhead ace bassist Les Claypool.

Metallica also chimes in with their version of "53rd & 3rd," with Pete Yorn ("I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend") and Rooney ("Here Today, Gone Tomorrow") rounding out this tribute. Vedder's version of "Daytime Dilemma (Dangers of Love)" will be a limited-edition bonus track on all initial pressings.

Horror writer Stephen King penned the liner notes. Proceeds of sales will be donated to charities in the name of recently deceased Joey and Dee Dee Ramone, including the New York City hospital Joey frequented toward the end of his life.

ALSO NEW: "Cruel Smile," Elvis Costello; "Complete Miles Davis at Montreux, 1973-1991"; "American Dreams," Charlie Haden; "The Herbie Hancock Box"; "Ragpicker's Dream," Mark Knopfler; "Live in Paris," Diana Krall; "American Idol: Greatest Moments"; Man vs. Machine," Xzibit.
