The state Board of Land & Natural Resources is waiting for more information before issuing a permit to allow a movie stunt calling for the shell of a Jeep to fall down a Kapena Falls cliff in Nuuanu.

The board decided to postpone the decision yesterday until after a second meeting Monday with producers for the still-untitled film starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Gilbert Coloma-Agaran, chairman of the Land Board, said there are "a couple issues ... and conditions" the board wants to discuss with producers.

The conditions include what the production will do to enhance the Kapena Falls area for public access and public use, said Coloma-Agaran.

The stunt, which would be shot early next month, is for the film formerly known as "Helldorado."

According to executive producer Ric Kidney, the production has taken several steps to ensure environmental protection, including removing the engine, transmission and glass from the Jeep.

Ramps would be built over the ground and cliff to protect those areas, and a helicopter will quickly lift the Jeep from the pond and take it to a nearby parking lot.
