The chance to buy homemade food lures shoppers to the traditional church fund-raising fair. There will be such culinary opportunities in East and West Oahu next Saturday.

>> Jams, jellies and baked goods made by the women of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church are the items that go fast at the Palolo church's annual Autumn Faire.

The sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Saturday at 1801 10th Ave. will also offer plants, tropical fish, the ever-popular rummage sale of used clothing, shoes and kitchenware, as well as a booth with donated new items for sale.

There will be crafts and games for children, and hot dogs and soft drinks. The event funds outreach programs.

>> Ethnic foods that recall the plantation days will be sold at the Ewa Community Church fair. The event from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 91-1258 Renton Road will also offer plants, craft items and baked goods. Games are planned to entertain children. The proceeds will support church programs.
