Methodists to hold mission seminar

"Mission Fiesta" is the theme of a Sept. 28 seminar on the United Methodist Church's missionary front.

Monday is the deadline for reservations for the sessions to be held at First United Methodist Church. For information, call Lucy Low at 737-0965.

The program from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. will include study groups on Mexican missions and a "Restorative Justice" panel discussion featuring prison ministries volunteers and a former inmate. The Rev. Barbara Grace Ripple, Hawaii district superintendent, will speak on the Book of James.

Pipeline Cafe to begin services on Sundays

The Pipeline Cafe nightclub in Kakaako will be born again as a church tomorrow morning.

A 10 a.m. service tomorrow will be the grand opening of Mana'olana Foursquare Church at the 805 Pohukaina St. location.

The Rev. Kaala Souza is pastor of the congregation, an offshoot of Hope Chapel Kaneohe Bay. The church provides a children's church and a youth ministry.

The club will continue to operate during the week.

Tibetan meditation workshops offered

Two sessions on Mahamudra Meditation, meditation on the nature of mind, will be offered this weekend at Kagyu Thegchen Ling, Tibetan Meditation Center, 26 Garley Place in Nuuanu.

The workshops from 2 to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow will be taught by Lama Tempa Gyeltshen with English translation. The cost is $30 for two sessions. For information, call 595-8989.
