What qualifies you to be a state representative?

The qualification that I have as a businessman and an electrical engineer, also have serve the past 2001-2002 legislative session, being vice chairman of Economic and Business Concerns, serve on the Finance, Tourism and Culture, and Agriculture Committees have been very valuable assets for me for future legislation.

What is the most pressing issue facing your district and what would you do about it?

Economic development, education, and environment are the pressing issue facing our district and the whole state, and would introduce specific legislation on these subject matters and work with my colleagues to pass such legislation.

What is the best way to stimulate the state's economy?

Improving on our economy, whether through high technology, diversified agriculture, aquaculture, bring new offshore financial capital, etc. We need to find another source of income besides Tourism to balance our fiscal budget.

Presently, I am a small business owner and professional athlete ... It is my desire to make the community that I love a better place for all of us. It is ... my track record of community service and my ability to bring people together to form consensus that qualifies me to be a state representative.

What is the most pressing issue facing your district and what would you do about it?

One of the more pressing issues facing our community in rural Oahu is the balance between economic survival and the pressure of urban growth. Can we find a way to preserve the most incredible beaches and natural resources in the world, preserve our rural lifestyles and yet maintain economic viability?

What is the best way to stimulate the state's economy?

The best way to stimulate the state's economy is to encourage business to thrive in Hawaii. This creates more job opportunities and keeps the revenue within the state. With the exception of environmental protection laws, regulation and the cost of doing business should be reduced. We need to diversify the visitor industry ...
