Another Wolfgang Puck

A Wolfgang Puck Express restaurant will be part of the renovated Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, opening in a new open-air arcade late this year.

The casual eatery offers several of the star chef's signature items, including Four Cheese Pizza, and Goat Cheese Salad with Arugula and Radicchio.

The first Wolfgang Puck Express opened last year as part of the Ward Entertainment Center.

Dinner affairs

Winez & Grindz: Classic Southern specialties will be showcased in a five-course dinner Friday at the Pineapple Room at Macy's Ala Moana. Chef Laura Fong's menu includes Chicken Gumbo with Warm Cornbread (with Au Bon Climat Pinot Blanc 2000), Deep Fried Catfish on Spanish Rice Risotto (with Babcock Vineyards Pinot Grigio 2001), Braised Ham Hock Roulade (with Edmeades "Mendocino" Zinfandel 1998), Dungeness Crab, Shrimp and Andouille Sausage (with Bonny Doon Pacific Rim Riesling 2000) and Homemade Apple Pie with Cinnamon Ice Cream. Cost: $49, $64 with wines. Call 945-6573.

Cooking class: Learn to cook a gourmet meal, then eat the results, 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at 3660 on the Rise. The lesson includes Pan Seared Scallops, Pan-Seared Moi, Chicken Marsala and Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta. Cost is $48, including wine pairings. Call 737-1177.
