The annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon will be televised on Monday from Windward Mall and Kahala Mall.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., entertainment will be provided and community volunteers will assist with fund-raising efforts at the two sites. The locally televised event will run in conjunction with the 37-year-old national telethon.
Firefighters on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island will be holding "Fill the Boot" collections today through Monday at various locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Oahu collection sites are:
>> Today: Corner of King and Bishop streets in downtown Honolulu.
>> Tomorrow: Corner of Likelike and Kamehameha highways fronting First Hawaiian Bank in Kaneohe.
>> Sunday: Corner of Waimano Home Road and Kamehameha Highway fronting First Hawaiian Bank in Pearl City.Maui collection sites are:
>> Today: Costco in Kahului.
>> Today, tomorrow and Sunday: Maui Mall, Wal-Mart Kahului, Safeway at Piilani Shopping Center, Longs Drugs in Kihei and Lahaina, Maui Market Place in Kahului.Big Island collection sites are:
