[ THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS
OF HAWAIIAN LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE ]

art
On a recent trip to Rome, Italy, Alex "Alika" Thompson of Aiea, who now lives in Houston, Texas, saw on the famous Via del Corso, nestled between stores carrying Italian designer clothing and jewelry, a sports/active-wear store with not only a Hawaiian surf theme but a Hawaiian name, Kailua. He found it amazing that even in one of the world's most fashionable capitals, Hawaii makes its mark.

"The Search for Signs of Hawaiian Life in the Universe" is just that: We're looking for evidence of Hawaiiana everywhere but Hawaii.
