Kupuna + 2: Bill Kaiwa shared aloha with kumu hula Kahalepuna Richardson-Naki, left, and dancer Kapelalani Williams on Wednesday at "Na Kupuna Night" at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider. Kaiwa, part of the original "Na Kupuna Night" shows in the 1960s, capped the show with "Boy from Laupahoehoe." Kaiwa, Richardson-Naki and her halau return to the hotel Oct. 18.

Mazie Hirono congratulated newly crowned Miss Teen-Hawaii Filipina 2002 Stephanie Nix and her father, Ed Nix, Friday at the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki. Stephanie, a student at Kapolei High School, also took top honors in the talent and "most photogenic" categories.
