NEW JOBS

>> Ron Teves has been named president and principal Broker of Coldwell Banker Commercial Pacific Properties. He will oversee the business development and operations of the company. Teves replaced acting president Scott Bradley, who will continue his position as managing director of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties' residential division. Teves brings more than 28 years of commercial real estate and development experience to Coldwell Banker, most recently as the president and chief executive officer of Chaney Brooks & Co., where he worked for 17 years.

>> Pat Campanella has joined SSFM International Inc. as senior project manager in the program and project management group for infrastructure and facility development. He will be involved in projects in the Pacific Region and Asia, as well as Hawaii. Campanella has worked for companies in Nigeria, Korea, Japan, Guam and Honolulu.

>> Mauna Kea Resorts has hired Rick Nagaoka to oversee sales for both Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel; Christopher McCullough as a new grounds manager; and Robert Suenaga and Michael DuRocher as sous chefs. Nagaoka was most recently director of sales and marketing at the Renaissance Wailea on Maui. McCullough previously worked was an assistant landscape director for Castle & Cooke Resorts. Suenaga spent three years in food service at Manele Bay Hotel, and DuRocher has a range of experience from work at the Hyatt Waikoloa, the Grand Wailea Resort on Maui, and the Ritz Carlton Kapalua.

>> The Hawaii Convention Center has hired Lois Asato as sales manager and Patricia Glaser as finance administrative assistant. Asato will book meetings, conventions and events for the Hawaii market. Prior to joining the convention center, she served as travel consultant for Carefree Tours & Travel. She has more than 20 years of visitor industry experience. Glaser will provide administrative support to the finance and human resources department at the center. She previously served as administrative assistant to the executive vice president, director of sales and senior account executive at Island Heritage.

PROMOTIONS

>> Dick Pacific Construction Co. has promoted John Ogoshi to business development manager and Milton Mitsui to chief estimator. Ogoshi is responsible for all business development efforts, preconstruction servicing and design-build delivery processes in the Hawaii market. He also oversees the Hawaii estimating department. Mitsui heads the estimating department and oversees the preparation of all estimates and preconstruction services.

>> Charis Fujimoto and Marlo Shiraishi have been promoted from marketing representatives to government account managers at Xerox Hawaii. They will be responsible for introducing Xerox Hawaii's line of equipment and services to state and county offices. Fujimoto joined Xerox Hawaii in December 2000, Shiraishi joined the company in January of that year.

ON THE BOARD

>> Lawrence Chew has been elected chairman of the board at the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii. He is a senior manager at Grant Thornton LLP Hawaii. Other new board officers are: Stephanie Tom, vice president of human resources at Finance Enterprises Ltd., 1st vice chair; Mark Murakami of Carlsmith Ball LLP, 2nd vice chair; Bonnie Horibata, senior manager of customer relations and claims at Aloha Airlines Inc., secretary; Michael Loo, controller at Kamehameha Schools, treasurer; Keith Hunter, president of Dispute Prevention & Resolution Inc., immediate past chair; and Anne Deschene, chief executive officer of the BBB, president.

New directors for 2002-05 are: Emi Anamizu, CEO of Ogilvy and Mather; Jim Bowen, vice president of operations for Dollar Rent-a-Car Systems, Inc.; Susan Au Doyle, vice president of Aloha United Way; Maki Kuroda, president of E Noa Corp.; Wayne Miyao, senior vice president of City Bank; Tanya Phillips, general manager of Ryan's Grill; Phillip Sammer, general manager of Ilima Hotel; Floyd Takeuchi, president of PacificBasin Communications LLC; Lance Terayama, president and chief operating officer of Island Movers, Inc.; Jim Tollefson, president and CEO of The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii Inc.; and Lynne Woods, president of the Maui Chamber of Commerce.

>> The Honolulu Chapter of American Marketing Association has named Helen Au president of its board for 2002-03. The senior vice president of admissions, marketing and placement for Hawaii Business College succeeds Lincoln Jacobe, president and chief executive officer of Pacific News.Net. Other board members include William Bendeck, president of Alliance Direct Marketing; Timothy Deegan senior vice president of YP&B Pacific; Wera Panow-Loui, director of marketing of Aloha Petroleum; Kevin Sakamoto, marketing manager of Honolulu City and County Employees Federal Credit Union; Mary Sohn, consultant of Database Marketing Solutions and Ivy Wong, marketing manager of University of Phoenix.
