The annual catfish season opened at Nuuanu Reservoir this weekend. Each fishing day is divided into two four-hour fishing periods, from 7 to 11 a.m. and from noon to 4 p.m. Fishermen are required to obtain a valid state freshwater fishing license and entry fishing card, which indicates when they may enter the reservoir area. There is a limit of two channel catfish per license, and any catfish 16 inches or longer must be kept and counted toward the bag limit. Grace Hamada held up three large catfish she had caught with her husband Paul Hamada.
