>> Dr. Thomas Vendetti has been appointed chief of the Hawaii Department of Health's new Maui Community Mental Health Center. He will oversee services and programs for Maui residents with severe mental illness and substance abuse disorders. He was most recently division director of Mental Health Kokua on Maui.>> Christine Chun has been appointed executive director of Aloha Harvest. She was most recently a human resources consultant for BCR/Right Management Consultants. Aloha Harvest works with hotels, restaurants and food distributors to feed the needy.
>> Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens has named Richard Farmer executive director. he has 25 years of experience in the field of horticulture. Farmer was most recently with the Walt Disney Co. at the Disneyland Resort in California. The 240-acre Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens in Kilauea, Kauai, was developed by Joyce and Ed Doty. It is open to the public.
>> Judi Beverly joins REHAB Hospital of the Pacific as a certified hand therapist. She will treat patients with the goal of preventing dysfunction and restoring function in patients with conditions such as crush injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis. She has more than 30 years of experience as an occupational therapist and has specialized in treating hands and upper extremities for nearly 20 years.
PROMOTIONS
>>City Bank has promoted Warren Y. Kunimoto to executive vice president from senior vice president of the bank's information technology department. He has been with City Bank since 1984. Also at City Bank, Jasen H. Takei was promoted to executive vice president from senior vice president of the bank's mortgage banking department.>> Bank of Hawaii has announced five new vice presidents: Gregory Ayau, who continues his responsibilities as East Hawaii Business Banking Center manager, where he oversees the daily activities of a team of business banking officers; Donovan Koki, who joins Bankoh as vice president and special assets officer, to manage the relationships of borrowers who are currently experiencing difficulty; Edward C.S. Kim, who continues his duties as manager of the commercial collections department, where he oversees resolution and collection of delinquent small business credit facilities in the Pacific; Diane Murakami, who joins as vice president and manager of the Waialae-Kahala Business Banking Center, to oversee a team of business banking officers for East Honolulu; and Sharon Pati, who continues her duties as manager of the funds transfer department where she is responsible for overseeing the bank's wire transfer operations.
>> Ross Birch has been promoted to head golf professional at Waikoloa Beach Resort's Championship Beach Course. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Beach Course, including supervision of the golf shop staff and special event tournament coordination. Birch was formerly operations manager at the Waikoloa's Kings' Course.
>> PRWorks Inc. has appointed Grant Kawaguchi to the position of assistant account executive. His responsibilities will include include media relations, developing press releases and media alerts and creating monthly reports for clients including Castle & Cooke Hawaii, Dole Plantation, Budget Car and Truck Rental and College Goal Sunday. Prior to being promoted, he served as an account coordinator, providing support on client accounts, assisting account executives and performing various administrative duties.
ON THE BOARD
>> Robert Lees has been appointed to the board of Hawaii National Bank. He is an executive advisor at KPMG Consulting Inc. Lees has been involved for more than 25 years in Asia-Pacific economies, and was formerly secretary general of the Pacific Basin Economic Council.>> The Hawaii District Council for the Urban Land Institute has appointed Christine Camp as its new chair. She is managing director of Avalon Development & Consulting, the newly elected vice chair of the board of the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, and incoming secretary for the board of the Hawaii Community Development Authority, the agency responsible for overseeing the development of Kakaako and Kalaeloa.
