'MOMOTARO' AND MORE
A PEACH OF A SHOW: John Rampage, back center, congratulated, from left, Kristin Ing (Momohana), Andrew Sakaguchi (Momotaro) and Greg Zane (Kitsune) Friday following the opening-night performance of "Momotaro and Other Delights" at Punahou. Sakaguchi also distinguished himself as choreographer and lead male dancer in "Boat Days," the first "delight" in the program.
A LEI FOR THE TEACHER: Evangeline Edwards was first in line with a lei for her dance teacher, Kristin Ing, after the show. Ing starred opposite Sakaguchi as Momotaro's supernatural sister, Momohana, in a ballet adventure based on two Japanese fairy tales. Ing leaves soon for a year of study on the mainland.
HI, HO!: Reggie Eaton, right, heard about the music of Daniel Ho while flying over from Maui and decided to catch Ho at Borders Books & Music at Ward Centre on Saturday. Ho and vocalist Andrea Tukuafu featured songs off of Ho's excellent new album, "Coolest Drop of Rain." The pain of Ho's recent divorce inspired him to bigger things as a singer and lyricist.
John Berger has covered the local
