narcayna@starbulletin.comScrapbook Clubhouse in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center offers products such as acid-free papers, stickers, instructional books and decorative accents. A few Hawaiian items, including flowers, honus, ferns and palm trees, are among the treasures.
"Midnite Madness!" workshops are held for the experienced scrap booker. A $10 fee offers access to all the tools, including power punches, stencils, die cuts, scissors, cutters and more. The next session will be held from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday.
If "Midnite Madness" is too late for you, "Crop and Shop" sessions are offered between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays. Materials may be purchased and scrapbooks may be created on the premises for a $2 per hour charge.
The "Basic Training" course is held monthly to help people get over that "first page phobia." The next class will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Participants should bring six to eight "everyday" photos, acid-free adhesive, scissors or a paper trimmer. The cost of the class is $15.
A "Step Beyond Basics" class teaches a customized two-page layout using circle and oval cutters, stencils and punches and will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 24. The cost to attend is $10.
A new specialty class, "Memories of Aloha," has also been added.
"People have so many scenic photos of the beach, from Pearl Harbor and places like the aquarium," said Lani Moody, owner of Scrapbook Clubhouse, who teaches scrapbookers to organize and display travel photographs.
Participants need to bring their photos and supplies. The next demonstration class is on Aug. 17. The fee is $12. Prepayment is required. Call 486-0333 to register.
