Mabel "Gran" DeReis, 78, of Kailua, a homemaker, died July 25. She was born in Hilo. Jacob "Captain Jack" John Fischer II, 84, of Kailua-Kona, a retired charter-boat captain and a U.S. Army veteran, died June 26 in Kona Community Hospital. He was born in Austin, Minn. He is survived by wife Esther, son Chip III, brother Don, a grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 9:30-11 a.m. tomorrow at Hawaii Big Game Fishing Clubhouse at Honokohau Harbor in Kona.
