19TH ANNUAL PO'OKELA AWARDS
THEY LOVED HER DRESS TOO: Sherry Chock Wong stole the show at the 19th Annual Po'okela Awards on Monday. Kevin Yamada, left, won for his performance in Army Community Theatre's "Flower Drum Song," and Douglas S. Scheer for his work in Diamond Head Theatre's "Titanic." Wong deserved an award for her tasteful but barely-there J.Lo-style micro-mini.
YOU GO, GIRL!: Stefanie Okuda sang her big number from "Flower Drum Song,"then learned she'd won a Po'okela for her performance in the ACT show. Josh Harris was a member of the Po'okela-winning ensamble cast of DHT's "Titanic."
SING THE SONG, KATIE! : Katie Leiva recreates her hot award-winning peformance in Manoa Valley Theatre's "Song of Singapore" with an assist from cast members Darren Server and Sherry Chock Wong. It was a well-deserved win for the multi-talented Leiva (her first). The award show was also a big night for DHT's John Rampage who received his 25th career Po'okela for directing "Mame."
