ALOHA, AUSTRALIA: Steel guitarists Jeff Ah Hoy, second from left, and Alan Akaka welcomed Australian musicologist Rebecca Coyle and her daughter, Rosa, to the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort Thursday. Coyle, who is researching the early history of Hawaiian music in Australia, took time off to catch Genoa Keawe's show that night. Akaka is Keawe's steel guitarist, and usually calls Ah Hoy to play a duet or two.
