Two firms post gains

ML Macadamia Orchards LP and CB Bancshares Inc. were the only stocks on the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index to post gains in what was a broadly dismal week for the market.

ML Macadamia gained 3.64 percent for the week to close at $3.70. There was no news out of the nut grower.

City Bank parent CB Bancshares was added to the Russell 2000 index June 28. But the stock actually lost ground after its new standing was announced Wednesday. It dropped from a high of $35.35 at Wednesday's close to end at $34.98 yesterday. That was still enough to boost the stock nearly 1 percent for the week.
