A 42-year-old man was in critical condition at Queen's Medical Center late last night after a shooting in Pauoa Valley, police said.

Police were called to 2103 Booth Road about 10:15 p.m.

A woman who identified herself as the daughter of the victim said her 2-year-old son was watching TV in the living room at the time of the incident. As she was walking out of her bedroom, all she saw was a "hand and a gun," the woman said.

John Kahooilihala, who lives across the street, said, "I heard one pop, then I heard one guy scream and then I seen a car pulling out (of the driveway) right after that."

Police said a suspect kicked open the victim's bedroom door, fired one shot, and ran out.

Police were looking for at least one suspect who had a nylon stocking pulled over his head. It was possible a second suspect also was at large in Pauoa Valley, police said.
