Keala Yuen, just back from Toronto, reports that city alone is raking in $4.3 billion in film business. She attributes it to "good crews, good laws, friendly people who live there and who will help in any situation -- just like the folks in Hawaii." Now it's up to us to attract business capital so we can emulate their success in the Islands. While in Canada, Yuen got a chance to work with British director Chris Bould and says they are planning to shoot a film here either late this year or early in 2003 called "Karma." A good step in the right direction, opines Yuen, is Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel forming an entertainment division with Roy Tjioe coordinating it ...

Also performing is vocalist Anita Hall with guitarist Zanuck Lindsey ... Ala Moana Center is holding a free music and fireworks show tomorrow night ... Aloha Tower Marketplace is eschewing fireworks this year Chai's Bistro is featuring Sean Na'auao/Toa on Friday night, and the first in a series of "Saturdays @ the Tower" is this week with music all day.
