HPD gives victims chance
to reclaim stolen items

Honolulu police are holding a viewing of stolen items from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at police headquarters, 801 S. Beretania St.

Anyone who has been the victim of a burglary within the last year can check if their property was recovered in a recent raid.

Police recovered an estimated $125,000 in stolen jewels, tools, computers and electronic and sporting equipment in a June 9 search of an Aiea home. Police believe the items were stolen from various homes and/or vehicles all over the island.

Police arrested two adult males in the case.

Here is the list of numbers to assist victims in contacting the detectives assigned to area investigations:

The viewing will be held on the Basement 2 level of the building. Police said the items will only be returned after legal ownership has been determined.

Those who find their property must have a photo ID, the number of the police report made when the items were stolen, the itemized list of stolen property that was submitted in the police report, and any serial numbers and photographs of the property taken. Public parking will be available behind the main police station in the open lot.
