Mid-Pac student
releases CD in Japan

Jennifer Perry, a 15-year-old from Mid-Pacific Institute high school, will be releasing her six-song CD Tuesday.

Japan's Victor Entertainment hopes to tap the wealth of the American music market by promoting Perry in Hawaii, followed by a monthlong blitz in Japan, then the rest of Asia and America.

The company feels that the Japanese-American singer will appeal to an audience in both countries.

New Waves Film Festival

Tickets are on sale for the New Waves Film Festival of surf films at the ARTS at Marks Garage that runs through Sept. 5.

The cost is $6 per show or $30 for the entire fest if purchasing the package by Saturday. For information, call 521-2903.
