The Kamehameha Schools Exploration Program, a summer project that teaches kids about Hawaiian culture, celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. Tehani Lee, one of 52 students in the program, placed a lei on the statue of Queen Lili'uokalani at the state Capitol yesterday. Some 50,000 students in all, from Hawaii and the mainland, have taken part in the program.
