>> Robert E. Glasgow was named vice president of flight operations at Hawaiian airlines. He is responsible for overseeing pilot administrative duties and activities, crew scheduling, pilot flight training and standards, domicile arrangements and system operations control. He was retained as a consultant by Hawaiian in April 2001 and previously logged in more than 30 years with Delta, Western and Continental airlines.

>> William Russell has been appointed vice president and corporate banking officer at American Savings Bank's corporate banking department. His responsibilities include providing loans and banking services to businesses on Maui.

Prior to joining American, he served Bank of Hawaii on Maui for 15 years as vice president and commercial banking officer and worked with American Savings & Loan Association in California.

>> Jim Heather joins Kanaloa at Kona as general manager. He previously worked as director of rooms at the Outrigger Guam Resort and has 12 years of experience in Guam and Japan's hospitality industry.

>> Remedy Intelligent Staffing has re-established itself in Honolulu under local owners Marie Kumabe and Kristi Inkinen. Remedy offers clerical, administrative, customer service, call center, light industrial and technical assistance and positions.

Kumabe previously served as director of internship and career development at the University of Hawaii's School of Travel Industry Management. Inkinen brings experience from her mother's executive placement business, Inkinen and Associates.

>> Luana Maitland was named senior sales manager for Outrigger Reef Waikiki on the beach. She brings 20 years of experience in management, sales, group sales and customer service, and has worked for Colony Hotels and Resorts and Classic Hawaii.

Promotions

>> George Fillion has been promoted to executive vice president and trust and private banking division manager at the Bank of Hawaii.

He will be responsible for domestic and international private banking, personal trust, retirement services, fiduciary operations and real estate investment and servicing activities.

He joined Bank of Hawaii in 2001 as vice president and fiduciary risk officer, and previously served as regional trust manager with Wells Fargo in Colorado.

>> Stephen M. Franklin was promoted to vice president and manager of institutional funds management at First Hawaiian Bank. Gary G. Maeshiro is now vice president and manager of First Hawaiian's trust employee benefits department. Mark M. Yoshida was promoted to vice president and senior administrative officer of the trust operations department. Gregory R. Lambert was appointed vice president of the trust operations department.

>> Ronald K. Migita, president and chief executive of City Bank, has been named president of the Hawaii Bankers Association. Hawaii Bankers also named Warren K. K. Luke vice president, Constance H. Lau secretary-treasurer, and Rodney R. Shinkawa executive vice president.

>> Reuben Wong has been elected president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii for 2002-2003. Wong is an attorney with 38 years of experience. Others elected include Terrill S.W. Chock, Winfred K.T. Pong, Ming Chen, Michele K.S. Choy, Henry H.H. Yu, Alvin C.P. Wong, Libby Y. Lew, Elvira Lo, Ban F. Chan, Gordon Au, Stanford Yuen, Clyde Chun, Yen Chun, Dennis Hwang, Vernon Jim, Leonard Kam, Gayle Lau, Kwock Nam Lau, Russell Leu, Sylvia Louie, Alex Marn, and Dr. Franklin Young.

Recognition

>> The Budget Rent a Car in Hawaii has recently named five outstanding employees of 2001: Bonnie Kualapai, a customer service representative at the Honolulu Airport, is Oahu's employee of the year; Christine Hudson, a receptionist at Budget Car Sales, is employee of the year for the Oahu regional office; Francine Hokoana, a customer service representative in Kaanapali, is employee of the year for Maui County; Roy Belanio, a customer service agent, is employee of the year for Hawaii County; and Ronald Alicante is Kauai's employee of the year.

Budget Rent a Car has also named four employees as managers of the year for 2001: Iris Yamamoto, Waikiki station manager, is Oahu's manager of the year; Ruby Itagaki is manager of the year for Oahu's regional office; Dean Yonamine, station manager at Kahului Airport, is manager of the year for Maui County; and Jerome Delenia, station manager, is manager of the year for Kauai and Hawaii.
