The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Aquasearch Inc., celebrating approval of its Chapter 11 reorganization plan, surged 53.3 percent to run away with weekly honors in the Bloom- berg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. The Kona company, which makes nutraceutical products out of microalgae, rose as high as 13.5 cents before ending at 11.5 cents. Chapter 11 approval boosts Aquasearch
Ceatech USA Inc., which traded just two days in the week, jumped 23 percent to finish second.
The other double-digit percentage gainer was Central Pacific Bank parent CPB Inc., which rose 12.2 percent to increase its year-to-date gain to 52.5 percent.
