doda@starbulletin.comIn honor of Father's Day, the Hawaii Coalition for Dads sponsored a "Celebrating Fathers Festival" at Pearlridge. Other activities included card-making crafts and sunflower seed planting, which children could surprise Dad with on Sunday.
Coby Yoshimura and his dad, Curt, are all smiles after winning second place. Coby is five.
Taking third place was gravy to Lewis and Ryan Boucher, who donned matching yellow shirts and radiant smiles for the contest. The affectionate father and son seemed happy just being together. At 10, Ryan still loves being in Dad's arms.
Being on stage is scary, even with Daddy, so Trevor Lau does his best to console 2-year-old Tiger.
Grant Yamashiro and daughters Geraldine, 4, and Kameko-Jane, 2, had lots of fun even if they didn't win.
