Harvard dominated the 2002 Intercollegiate Sailing Association team racing championships from start to finish as the Crimson blew by the field yesterday to win its first team racing championship.

"I knew coming in we could win the regatta but we're amazed that we went unscathed," Harvard coach Mike O'Connor said. "Our team depth really helped."

Harvard emerged from the three-day championship at Keehi Lagoon unblemished with a 17-0 record. The Crimson co-hosted last year's championship and finished second to the Hoyas. Harvard finished first and second in each of its races.

Sean Doyle, Clay Bischoff, Dan Litchfield and Cardwell Potts skippered for the Crimson while Michelle Yu, Laura Knoll, Gabe Dorfman, Susan Bonney and Lema Kikuchi crewed.

Tufts sailed well on the final day to avenge its loss to defending national champion Georgetown. But the Jumbos couldn't overcome the Crimson. Tufts went 4-2 yesterday and finished with an overall record of 13-4.

Georgetown entered yesterday's final four round-robin with one loss but lost twice to Harvard and Tufts to finish third. College of Charleston (8-9) ended in fourth.

The last ICSA championship is the Gill North American Coed Dinghy Championship. Eighteen teams will race in the competition that begins today at noon.
