Special Olympics wraps up competition

Nearly 800 Special Olympic athletes and coaches from across the state trained and competed since the beginning of the year to get a chance to come to Oahu for the statewide 2002 Summer Games competitions in track and field, swimming, powerlifting and softball. Yesterday was the final day of the Special Olympics held at the Kamehameha Schools athletic complex. From left, Lanakila teammates Tammy Look, Gilda Dejesus and Madeline Gungab were awarded their silver medals after a relay race.
