Seong Whang, right, received the annual Wallace Rider Farrington Scholarship that provides a full ride, including tuition, books and fees, for four years at University of Hawaii at Manoa. Presenting Whang with the award last night at Farrington High School was Charles Hite, great-grandson of Gov. Farrington. The scholarship was established by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin after World War II to honor the former territorial governor and publisher of the newspaper.
