Roast set for July 19

Hugh Yoshida, retiring after nearly 10 years as athletic director at the University of Hawaii, will be honored at a "roast" July 19 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Dinner, provided by Sam Choy, begins at 7 p.m. followed by the program at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $125 for individuals with table available for $1,250, $3,000 and $5,000.

All proceeds will be deposited into the Hugh and Patti Yoshida endowment account benefiting UH athletics. KHNL general manager John Fink is the master of ceremonies.

Aloha State Games brochure available

The entry brochure for the 2002 Aloha State Games -- which go from June 2-July 27 -- is now available at all Jamba Juice locations. About 5,000 participants are expected. Information is also available at www.alohastategames.com.
