Frances Arndt, 78, of Kailua, a retired employee of the military exchange at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii, died May 11. She was born in Honolulu. Incorrect information was provided for an obituary published Wednesday.

Marion Alberta Benedict, 83, of Honolulu, a homemaker and WWII U.S. Marine Corps veteran, died Thursday at home. She was born in Boston, Mass. She is survived by husband Albert A., daughter Donna Acosta, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one hanai grandchild and one hanai great-grandchild. Private services.

Charles "Charley" Kuualoha Chai, 64, of Honolulu, a Hale Koa Hotel housekeeping shift manager, died May 10 in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Kealoha Guigni; daughters Erin Chai, Ui'lani Chaves, Tiffany Santos and Auli'i Wiley; son Shane Maria; mother Nora "Keahi" Santos; sisters Sandy Silva and Blossom Thurston; brothers George Meheula and Augie Santos and nine grandchildren. Gladys L. Ferreira, 77, of Mililani, died last Sunday. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Joseph; daughters Paulette VeCasey and Linda Holstein; sons John "Billy" Jr., Marvin, Roy and Stephen "Rocky" Freitas; step son Warren; brother Clarence Lopes; sister Hilda Azevedo; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Helen Ines Larson Hamilton, 80, of Aiea, a registered nurse and former night supervisor at St. Francis Medical Center, died Monday in Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi. She was born in Rockford, Ill. She is survived by sons Martin, William and John; daughters Helen Hamilton and Susie Sakima; and six grandchidlren. Visitation: 10:30 am. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Borthwick Mortuary. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii.

Charles "Chuck" Newhall Harvey, 81, of Kula, Maui, a proprietor for a pest control company and a WWII fighter pilot, died April 18 in Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Denver, Colo. He is survived by sons Mark T., Scott C. and Bruce, hanai son L.J. Millikin, and four grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Ballard Family Mortuary.

Marie Kekahu Kahula, 83, of Hana, Maui, co-owner of Kahula Service Station, a former Hawaiian Telephone Co. switchboard operator and Hana Ranch Hotel dining room manger, died Wednesday in Hana. She was born in Kipahulu, Maui. She is survived by husband Rev. Henry P. Sr.; sons Henry P. Jr., Dennis A. Sr. and Rev. Wayne K.; daughters Annie K. and Rosemarie M.; sister Henrietta Mahuna and half brother Edward K. Kahuila. Services: 8 p.m. Thursday at Ballard Family Mortuary and 11 a.m. Friday at Wananalua Congregational Church. Call after 6 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.

Preston Jay Mitchell, 46, of Kihei, Maui, a carpenter, died Tuesday at home. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is survived by parents Ralph and Lois and stepbrothers Gordon and Gregory MacLachlan. Private services.

Rita Mae "Mom" Nobriga, 74, of Kaneohe, a retired Tops at Waikiki employee, died Tuesday in Castle Medical Center. She was born in California. She is survived by sons Walter, Lee, Bert and Almar; daughter Minei Kiefer; sisters Evelyn Weidlich and Lucille Nobriga; and one grandchild. She is survived by husband Perfecto "Ping," son Cameron C.K., daughter Darcel L., mother Nona Boudreau, brother Clarence C. Carter, sister Bea Hudman and two grandchildren. Emeliano R. Rillamas, 96, of Honolulu, a retired nurseryman, died last Sunday. He was born in Ilocos Norte, the Philippines. He is survived by daughter Lawrencia Capwell; sons Alberto, Esteban, Charles, Glenn and Raymond; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
