Home Depot shops for
Kauai store site

Star-Bulletin Staff

Home Depot is looking for a location on Kauai to develop its fifth store in Hawaii.

"Nothing has been narrowed down," Kathryn Gallagher, a spokeswoman at the company's headquarters in Atlanta, said yesterday.

The company is in the process of site selection "and trying to find the best fit for the company and the community in terms of site," she said. Kauai sources have said the company is interested in a site next to Grove Farm's Puakea Golf Course. Officials at landowner Grove Farm Properties declined to comment.

Home Depot has two stores on Oahu and one on Maui and is building one on the Big Island.
