at Marks
"The ART of Fashion ... from Vintage to Visionary" is being presented at The ARTS at Marks Garage from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday.The Pacific Handcrafters Guild Foundation presents a creative collaboration of wearable art, fashion, jewelry and accessories by local designers including Sam Clemens, Catherine Cooper, Barbara Davis, Joanna Hernandez, Cynthia Henrie, Courtney Kaye, Kira, Kyle Ino, Leah Morris, Lauren "Lo" Levin and Candice Wakamoto.
A portion of sales will support the foundation's educational and scholarship programs. Marks Garage is at 1159 Nuuanu Ave. For more information, call 521-2903.
A new look for summer

Stop in to the cosmetics department of Neiman Marcus, where Awake national makeup artist Catherine Baek will be giving complimentary makeovers and showing new products from the company's Stardom line from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow.National makeup artists for Versace cosmetics will also be giving complimentary makeovers and showing limited-edition colors and products from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday.
Hermes demonstration
Hermes will be flying in craftsmen from its silk factories in France to bring free scarf-printing demonstrations to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center from next Thursday to May 21.Demonstrations will take place in the ground-floor Ilima Court adjacent to the Hermes store at 11 a.m. both days, plus 2, 4 and 7 p.m. from May 17 to 21. Since 1937, Hermes has created more than 1,000 scarf designs. Artists work for a period of six months to a year before a design is approved for transfer onto silk, with about 15 designs introduced annually.
The event is free, and parking is available for $1 per hour for a maximum of five hours at the RHSC garage with validation at Hermes.
