James "Jim" Edward Balat, 35, of Kapolei, a graduate assistant for the University of Hawaii History Department, died Sunday in Ewa Beach. He was born in Dover, Del. Francis Xavier Conlon, 84, of Honolulu, a U.S. Air Force veteran, died Sunday in Straub Clinic & Hospital. He was born in Manchester, Mass. He is survived by son Thomas, daughters Judith Donnelly and Suzanne Conlon, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Eleanor May Flack, 89, of Honolulu, a movie actress and theater owner, died yesterday. She was born in Mississippi. She is survived by son Bradford A. and daughter Meghan H. Flack-Donavan. Private services.

Gabriel Gandall, 79, of Wailuku, a retired bus driver and U.S. Army World War II veteran, died last Thursday in Hale Makua, Wailuku. He is also survived by daughter Ginell Carreiro and two grandchildren. The mortuary provided incorrect information in an obituary published Tuesday.

Rosemary Aldora Gordon, 68, of Kailua-Kona, a paralegal, died April 21 in Honolulu. She was born in Walla Walla, Wash. She is survived by sons Randall and Ralph; and daughters Debra Young, Sandi Ficker, Mary Winstanley and Kagey Dahlquist. Private services.

Harriet Mitsuko Owan Aipa Grindley, 61, of Honolulu, a bookkeeper for Royal Development, died April 24. She was born in Hawaii.
