Death to flirts?

When an emperor condemns every man guilty of flirtation "unless connubially linked" to death, you just know it's got to be a comedy. Otherwise -- oops -- there goes one gender (not that men are even necessary now that we can clone the human species).

You know the story is "The Mikado" and it's being presented at 7:30 p.m. today at Unity Church of Hawaii, with the Hawaii Chamber Orchestra and a full chorus. The production stars Cathy Foy as Katisha, Steve Wagenseller as Ko-Ko the tailor who is bothed condemned and the executioner, and Kevin Loo as the Mikado. Also starring are Dennis Proux, Stephanie Conching, Guy Merola, Charles Degala and Tricia Marciel.

>> Place: Unity Church of Hawaii, 3608 Diamond Head Circle (park at Waikiki Elementary)
>> Time: 7:30 p.m.
>> Tickets: $15 general with discounts for seniors and military; $15 for students; under 12 free
>> Call: 734-0397
