Malama celebrates Earth Month Sunday
Malama, an Aveda Lifestyle Salon Spa, celebrates Earth Month with a $25 "Cut-A-Thon" and $1-per-minute "Massage-A-Thon" at its Ala Moana Center and Manoa locations Sunday.All proceeds will go directly to Hawaii Nature Center in support of its eco-friendly programs.
Events will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ala Moana and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Manoa. Appointments can be made by calling 988-0101, or you can just walk in on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
All haircuts include shampoo and a head, neck and scalp massage. The Massage-A-Thon's $1-per-minute stress-relieving massage will be limited to 10 minutes max per person. Only cash and checks made out to Hawaii Nature Center will be accepted at the fund-raiser.
The Ala Moana Center location is on the third floor (next to Neiman Marcus). The Manoa address is 2801 E. Manoa Road.
Kahala Mall retailers have what 'it takes'
Kahala Mall's "It Takes Two Fashion Show" at 1 p.m. tomorrow will feature fashions for men, women and children from mall retailers.Participating in the free 1 p.m. showcase are Macy's, Cotton Cargo, Reyn's, Riches, Ohelo Road, VUE Hawaii and Morgan Beret Fine Lingerie.
It's a good opportunity to eye the newest looks without digging through racks to find what you want.
Misook collection shown at Macy's
Informal modeling of garments from the Exclusively Misook Collection will take place at Macy's Ala Moana from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26 and 1 to 3 p.m. April 27, with a noon fashion show.The Exclusively Misook collection was created by Misook Doolittle, who began knitting sweaters as a hobby. Over the last 15 years, her $300 initial investment sprouted into a multimillion-dollar company featuring women's casual and business wear.
